It was so great to see Billy and Julie again and their daughter, Jessica, back in April! Joining them was Jessica's husband, Holden, their sweet little boy, and Holden's mother, Deborah, for a three generation family session.  I've known this wonderful family for about twelve years. However I feel like I've known them much longer as my stepmother, Bernice, was a longtime friend of Julie's mother going back to the 1970's.

We had a beautiful spring morning for their session, which was at Tanger Bicentennial Garden in Greensboro. There are so many fantastic locations in this garden for photography. Billy and Julie actually got engaged in the garden and requested a photo of them on the bridge, where she said "yes"!

Another special request that they had was to have some photographs of them in Camberly's Garden. This memorial garden was inspired by Camberly Holliday, the daughter of former Greensboro Mayor, Keith Holliday and Cindy Holliday. The garden honors the memory of children who have left us too soon. Billy and Julie's oldest daughter and Jessica's sister, Juliana, passed away in 2018. At just 27, she lost her courageous battle with cancer.

Juliana was a lovely young lady and I really got to know her over the course of several years between photographing her engagement session to Brian, her husband, in 2014, to photographing Juliana for her formal bridal session in the spring of 2015, and then later that summer, their beautiful wedding. Finally designing their heirloom wedding album later that fall and delivering it to them just in time for Christmas. I always enjoyed our "coffee dates". She is so missed.

Juliana's family has a memorial bench with a plaque on it honoring and remembering her in Camberly's Garden at Tanger Bicentennial Garden. I will never forget her as she truly was one of a kind. Billy and Julie have set up a scholarship in honor of Juliana and each year, they have a silent auction for this very special cause. Year after year, I donate a photo session for this and I always will as long as I'm able to do so. If you'd like to learn more about the silent auction, please reach out to me HERE and I will get you in touch with them.

It truly was special spending time with this wonderful family again. I felt Juliana's presence the entire time we were there.
